Family Divorce Solutions proudly announces that Leslie Howell, Esq. has been named a 2025 Eureka Award Winner, one of the highest honors bestowed within the Collaborative Practice community in California.
The Eureka Award recognizes individuals who “have made significant contributions and demonstrated an abiding dedication to establishing and sustaining Collaborative Practice in California.” This prestigious honor is awarded annually by Collaborative Practice California (CPCal) to leaders whose vision, service, and commitment have advanced peaceful, client-centered approaches to resolving family conflict.
A Career Built on Advocacy, Then Transformed by Peacemaking
Leslie began her legal career as a certified law student and quickly built a reputation as a powerful courtroom litigator, following the familiar trajectory of many family law attorneys. But in 2010, she made a deliberate and meaningful shift: she moved away from adversarial litigation and dedicated herself to amicable, affordable, out-of-court divorce solutions.
For the past 15 years, Leslie has focused her practice on helping families resolve their differences respectfully, collaboratively, and with a focus on long-term stability. Her work has touched countless individuals seeking healthier, more constructive divorce experiences.
Leadership, Service, and a Passion for Consensual Dispute Resolution
Beyond her client work, Leslie has been a driving force in promoting consensual dispute resolution across Southern California.
She spearheaded the creation of an affordable divorce initiative, alongside fellow Family Divorce Solutions peacemakers James Walton, Christine Kerian, andJami Fosgate, expanding access to collaborative services for families who need them most.
