Jeffrey P. Bollinger

My professional career began in public relations, where for a decade I represented innovators, entrepreneurs, start-ups, and established companies in entertainment, Internet, new media, and technology in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York. I learned to understand what motivated clients, identify their priorities, and develop persuasive messages that could resonate with different audiences—from consumers and financial markets to employees, business partners, and the media. Those experiences developed skills that have become central to my work as a mediator and Collaborative Law attorney: active listening, understanding different perspectives, identifying what matters most, and helping people communicate effectively when the stakes are high.

I bring that same approach to family law. As a mediator and Collaborative Law practitioner, I help clients navigate divorce and other family law matters with dignity, discretion, and thoughtful problem-solving. I believe that even when a relationship is ending, the process does not have to become adversarial, and that clients are best served when they retain control over the decisions that will shape their families and their futures.

As a mediator, I help parties identify their priorities, understand their options, and reach informed, practical agreements. As a Collaborative attorney, I provide individual clients with advice and advocacy while working within a cooperative, team-based process designed to foster communication and resolve disputes without litigation.

I work with clients in divorce, paternity/parentage matters, and same-sex marriage and domestic partnership dissolution, including parenting and custody arrangements, child and spousal support, property division, business valuation, and other complex financial issues. I also work with clients in negotiating and preparing premarital, postmarital, and cohabitation agreements.

I have been recognized as a Southern California Super Lawyer every year since 2016 and was named a "Rising Star" from 2009–2012. I am a founding member of the American Academy of Certified Financial Litigators and an active member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals and the Los Angeles Collaborative Family Law Association. I am a past co-chair of the Multicultural Bar Alliance of Southern California and a past board member and co-president of the Lesbian & Gay Lawyers Association of Los Angeles.
